The Penny Black Remedy a multi-national four-piece who currently reside in London, the band mix and match ska, rock, country and a whole dose of attitude to create bone rattling, genre straddling addictive noise that's more contagious than the common cold. The band have already wowed audiences across the UK and further afield to such places as Holland and Croatia, they've also shared bills with the likes of The Buzzocks, Starsailor, Joanna Newsom and Alabama 3 among others and now the band are set to reach a much greater audience with the release of their debut single 95 Charing Cross Road. The track is the first taster from the band's forthcoming album, No One's Fault But Your Own and as introductions go this one is akin to battering down your front door with a tank just to say hello. 95 Charing Cross Road begins with a contagious ska bounce (horns and all) before developing into a rowdy sing along anthem taking in numerous influences and spitting them back as a fully formed anthem. Imagine a more focused Gogol Bordello with added x-factor and bigger hooks and you're somewhere near to the sound of The Penny Black Remedy, this single has everything, energy, attitude, contagious lyrics and a killer tune. Music is my mistress and I've just been spanked!!!
